Located in the heart of Historic homes, it’s an easy 3 block walk to downtown shops, antiques, Memorial Theater, The Woodward Opera House, restaurants and four churches. In the surrounding area there are several beautiful public golf courses, and museums. Kenyon College is five miles away and it’s less than three miles to Mount Vernon Nazarene University. Apple Valley Lake and Golf course is a scenic six miles away from town. Mount Vernon is connected to several nearby towns and villages with the beautiful Kokosing Gap Trail for biking and walking. Many events are centered in Mount Vernon and the surrounding area. These include The Dan Emmett Music and Arts Festival in August, The Knox County Fair in July, many baseball and softball tournaments, Antique and Classic Car Shows, Ohio’s Largest Garage Sale, Golf Tournaments, big band entertainment, the Annual Christmas Parade and many other opportunities for all ages.
